GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Late last night, police detained 29-year-old Stephon Marquis Gould, accused of escaping from an officer on a bike allegedly taken from a sorority house. Gould was released from prison on September 22.

Around 10:44 p.m. on October 11, University of Florida Police responded to a call from the Gamma Phi Beta house, where a witness reported seeing a black male break a lock and remove a bike from a rack.

When officers confronted Gould, he reportedly continued north on W. Panhellenic Drive on the stolen bike but was eventually caught on SW 8th Avenue.

The arrest report notes that Gould has an active trespass warning from all UF campus properties, including W. Panhellenic Drive.

As the bike’s owner was not identified at the time of Gould’s arrest, he faced charges for evading law enforcement, loitering, and trespassing despite prior warnings.

Gould, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has 11 (non-violent) felony convictions and 18 misdemeanor convictions (including two violent ones). He has been imprisoned four times in Alachua County, with his latest release occurring on September 22, 2025. Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard set his bail at $45,000.

Articles involving arrests are derived from law enforcement reports. The mentioned charges stem from arrest documents and/or court files and remain allegations. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court.
