A bloodied and battered Aaron Eckhart was in the midst of a chaotic protest scene while filming his new movie The Bricklayer.

The 54-year-old actor was spotted in Thessaloniki, Greece on Thursday as filming continues on the action-thriller, based on the 2010 book by former FBI agent Noah Boyd.

Eckhart, who plays a former CIA agent named Steven Vail, is seen trying to destroy a scaffolding in the scene, while co-stars such as Clifton Collins Jr. were also spotted on set.

Eckhart was on set in a grey suit with a slightly-unbuttoned white dress shirt that was covered in dirt, over a grey suit coat.

He also donned matching grey pants with a black belt and black shoes, with his face and hands seen caked with dried dirt and blood.

The actor was seen wielding a large sledge hammer, which he was seen swinging to take down a scaffolding… which Clifton Collins Jr. was on, seemingly firing into a demonstration against NATO and the CIA.

It seemed Eckhart’s character Steven Vail was successful in taking down the scaffolding, since another shot showed the stunt doubles for Collins Jr. and another character falling to the ground below, equipped with harnesses.

Collins’ character was seemingly firing at some sort of world leader, who was at a podium delivering a speech, but was later seen being rushed off the stage.

The action seemed to take a toll on Collins as well, whose face was caked with dried blood like Eckhart’s
