Unidentified human remains were found last week in an abandoned storage unit in Oregon.
The Dalles Police Department reported they received a call around 9:30 a.m. on July 29 regarding a discovery made by someone who had purchased an unclaimed storage unit. This individual suspected there were human remains in a container within the unit.
After securing a search warrant, police recovered human remains.
The authorities dispatched the remains to the State Medical Examiner for a post-mortem examination. They stated that additional details will be provided once the investigation progresses.
A report by KPTV mentions that a woman who was at a nearby fast food establishment observed the scene as authorities carried out the search warrant.
“They wore protective masks and gloves, carrying paper bags to the evidence van, and took numerous photographs,” stated Tawnya Williams. “There was a black container beneath the tent, and they appeared to be photographing its contents extensively.”
According to The Oregonian, a police spokesperson said the case was “evolving quickly” when asked for an update.
