British authorities have authorized sexual assault charges against actor Kevin Spacey.

Rosemary Ainsley, head of the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime Division, announced the charges on Thursday.

“He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent,” she said. “The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”

CPS said that Spacey — full name Kevin Spacey Fowler — has been charged with two sexual assaults in March 2005 in London, another in London in August 2008, and a fourth in Gloucestershire in April 2013. The penetrative sexual activity charge is for an incident in London in August 2008.

There are three complainants in the cases — London 2005 is Complainant 1, London 2008 is Complainant 2, and Gloucestershire is Complainant 3.

Authorities will not be revealing other information. The United Kingdom has very strict laws against what can be reported in criminal cases.
