According to the Palestinian health ministry, an Israeli soldier fatally shot a Palestinian man in an army raid on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat, 20, died of critical wounds to the head caused by live bullets at daybreak today in Aqabat Jaber camp near Jericho.

Soldiers shot at residents who confronted them after an undercover unit arrested a young man from the camp, leaving three people wounded, according to Palestinian media.

Wafa reported that the Fatah movement in Jericho has launched a countrywide strike throughout the district, barring the health sector. On Tuesday, similar raids were carried out in Jenin, Nablus, and Qalqilya, among other places o the West Bank.

With Oweidat’s killing, the total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli troops in the West Bank this year has risen to 50.

Lutfi Labadi, 20, died of his wounds on Friday after being shot by Israeli authorities during army raids near Jenin earlier this week.

Hanan Mahmoud Khaddour, 19, was shot by Israeli soldiers on her way home from a school session in Jenin last week and died of her wounds. Shawkat Kamal Abed, 17, was shot near the northern West Bank city of Ramallah and died in the hospital.
