An Alabama man charged with killing a missing woman found dead at his home allegedly hit her with his car and then turned around haer second time.
Court records indicate that Logan Michael Rogers, 28, returned approximately half an hour later driving a pickup truck to collect the remains of Autumn Paige Strickland, as reported by WAAY.
Strickland, aged 38, was officially listed as missing on Sunday evening, according to CrimeOnline. On Tuesday, authorities arrested Rogers at his residence, originally accusing him of attempted murder. However, the charges were elevated to murder following the discovery of the body during a warranted search.
Last observed leaving a hotel in Florence just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Strickland was labeled as “endangered” by the police early in their investigation, citing a potential condition that “might impair her judgment,” reported Law&Crime.
Police said they received multiple tips in the course of the investigation, including video evidence from a local business, that led them to Rogers. Strickland’s cell phone was also found in the location where she was struck by the car.
They have not yet said how the two knew one another or commented on any possible motive.
