Attacker ‘Felt Bad’ For Slashing Victim With Machete, So He Drove Him to Hospital

A Florida man told deputies he “felt bad ” after slashing another man with a machete, so he took his victim to the hospital.

Angel Ramos-Arce, 35, was taken into custody on Monday and faces charges of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and aggravated battery resulting in bodily harm, according to a report by Law&Crime.

The event occurred outside a convenience store in Osceola County. The arrest affidavit indicates that Ramos-Arce entered the Circle K store and started shouting at an employee, prompting her to call her brother for assistance.

The brother arrived with the employee’s boyfriend, who then stood between the brother and Ramos-Arce. The suspect reacted by punching the boyfriend in the face, after which he ran to his truck to grab a machete, claiming it was meant to “intimidate” the two men, who he noted were “significantly larger” than he was.

The boyfriend and brother ran off upon seeing the machete, and Ramos-Arce followed them. He slashed the brother’s arm when he caught up with them, which he said was accidental. He said he “felt bad” for having cut the man, so he told him to get in his truck so they could go to the hospital.

The Circle K employee identified the suspect’s truck to deputies, who followed it to a nearby hospital. There, they found the victim’s blood and the machete inside the truck, and he was arrested.
