Pennsylvania prosecutors have revealed unsettling information about a 34-year-old man accused of grave robbing. Authorities have arrested Jonathan Gerlach, a resident of Ephrata, after he was spotted leaving Mount Moriah Cemetery clutching a burlap sack, a crowbar, and various other tools.
Gerlach is now facing more than 500 criminal charges, including 100 counts of abusing a corpse, desecration, theft, and other related offenses. The alleged crimes began in early November and continued through December. Law enforcement apprehended Gerlach on January 6, following an intensive investigation.
According to previous reports by CrimeOnline, the suspect’s activities have drawn comparisons to a horror film, with Gerlach allegedly keeping over 100 human skulls and mummified remains in his home. Experts Joseph Scott Morgan and Dave Mack provide further insights into the grim case.
