A suspicious house fire in the Adelaide suburb of Dernancourt is being investigated by local authorities, who are exploring potential connections to a separate act of vandalism that occurred near the same property. 

Video footage captured an unknown suspect smashing the windscreen of a car parked outside the house, just hours after last night’s destructive blaze.

The fire, which broke out on Raphael Avenue, was also captured on CCTV, with smoke seen seeping from the home before it burst into flames. 

Neighbours reported hearing shouts as the blaze engulfed the property within minutes. 

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 8:30pm and battled the inferno for over an hour.

The home’s two occupants managed to escape without sustaining any injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with police exploring potential links to the car vandalism incident.
