Authorities in California are intensifying their search for a 9-year-old girl who has been missing for an entire year.
The absence of Melodee Buzzard was brought to the attention of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday by a concerned school official. Following this report, deputies visited Buzzard’s mother at her home. However, they were unable to locate the young girl, and her mother was unable to provide any information about her whereabouts, as reported by the Santa Maria Times.
The last confirmed sighting of Buzzard took place a year ago. Additionally, the most recent photograph available, which accompanies this article, dates back two years.
Authorities have not clarified if they suspect foul play in Buzzard’s disappearance or if her mother is a person of interest. Nevertheless, they have classified her as “at risk,” according to KTLA.
The Santa Barbara County investigators are urging anyone with information about Buzzard’s location to contact them at 805-681-4150. Those who wish to remain anonymous can provide tips through their dedicated line at 805-681-4171.
