Update: The New York Post reports that David Bonola is the handyman investigators believed had a romantic tryst with Gaal and that he has made a full confession.

Sources said he left a pair of blood-soaked boots at the scene, and the boots led police to him.

Bonola has no criminal record and turned himself in after police said they were focusing on someone who had a relationship with Gaal and had worked at her home, the New York Daily News said.

Original story:

New York police have arrested a 44-year-old man and charged him with the murder of Queens mom Orsolya Gaal.

Gaal was found dead in a wheeled duffel left on the street a few blocks from her home early Saturday morning. Police followed a trail of blood back to the home, and an autopsy found that the 51-year-old mother of two had been stabbed nearly 60 times.

In an email sent to reporters, police said David Bonola had been charged with murder, criminal tampering, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The New York Post reported earlier that an unidentified suspect had been arrested and had admitted arguing with Gaal before the murder.

This is a developing story.
