A tragic incident unfolded late Friday night in California, leading to a homicide probe as San Diego authorities hunt for several suspects involved in a fatal stabbing.
Homicide Lt. Lou Maggi reported that officers arrived shortly after 11:00 p.m. on the 1600 block of Logan Avenue to find a 28-year-old man collapsing in an alley, gravely wounded. Despite immediate medical intervention from both a passerby and emergency responders on the scene, the injuries were too severe.
Maggi revealed that the victim, who was of Somali heritage, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a trauma facility.
Investigative efforts have uncovered that the victim was surrounded by a group of three Hispanic men and one Hispanic woman, who then assaulted him, as reported by CBS 8.
Although a man and woman were initially held for questioning near the incident location, they have since been released as the investigation progresses.
Throughout Saturday, detectives diligently canvassed the area, seeking witnesses and gathering evidence, yet no detailed descriptions of the suspects have been released to the public.
The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
