“Today” show host Savannah Guthrie has released a video message confirming that her family received new communication from those possibly involved in the disappearance of her mother, 84-year-old Savannah Guthrie.
Through Instagram, Savannah expressed her desire to negotiate regarding the safe return of her 84-year-old mother.
“We’ve received your message and understand your position. We implore you to return our mother so we can celebrate together. This is crucial for our peace, and we are prepared to compensate accordingly,” she conveyed.
This statement came after KOLD received a communication on Friday. The station reported that they have handed the correspondence over to law enforcement. Authorities in Pima County, alongside federal agents, are currently scrutinizing the lead.
Officials from Pima County confirmed, “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been informed of a new communication about Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively assessing the validity of the information shared.”
Savannah’s recent plea follows an earlier request from her brother, Camron Guthrie.
In a prior social media message, he urged those holding their mother to contact the family directly, stating, “To whoever has our mother, we are eager to hear from you. We haven’t received any direct communication.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home shortly before 10 p.m. on January 31. Her family reported her missing at around noon on February 1, after she missed church.
Investigators later found blood on her front porch, confirmed to be Nancy’s. Officials said that around 1:47 a.m. on February 1, Nancy’s doorbell camera had been disconnected. At 2 a.m., Nancy’s pacemaker pinged her phone.
At around 2:12 a.m., security camera software detected movement, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, although he could not confirm the source of the movement.
On Thursday, the FBI announced a $50,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone associated with Nancy Guthrie’s abduction.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
