On Thursday, Arizona law enforcement officials held a press briefing to discuss the continuing investigation into the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother.
Authorities suspect that 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who has limited mobility, was taken from her residence in Tucson. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared that they are actively pursuing leads with the FBI’s help, expressing hope that she is still alive.
It was confirmed by police that the blood discovered on Nancy Guthrie’s doorstep is hers. Despite this evidence, Sheriff Nanos stated that the investigation has yet to identify or find any suspects or persons of interest.
During the briefing, Nanos outlined a timeline of events. Nancy Guthrie was last seen being dropped off at her home on Saturday night, just hours before her security camera system went offline. The system reportedly detected movement about 30 minutes later, but the footage is unavailable due to the camera’s looping feature.
Nanos mentioned there is no evidence to suggest the home camera was tampered with or destroyed.
Furthermore, sources informed The New York Post about evidence, including blood and indications of forced entry, hinting at foul play in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Her necessary medication was also left behind, supporting the theory of an abduction. However, Nanos expressed uncertainty regarding the origins of the claims about forced entry.
The FBI said a $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Nancy Guthrie.
