Developing: Chicago Mother Allegedly Stabs 4-year-old Boy in Abdomen

An Illinois woman is behind bars after she allegedly stabbed her own son over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, the police were alerted by staff at Evanston Hospital when a young child was brought in with a puncture wound to the abdomen from a “sharp object”, as reported by CWB.

The police learned that the boy was stabbed at his residence, an apartment complex in the 1700 block of West Touhy Avenue in the Rogers Park area. 

According to a statement from the Chicago police, “a 7-year-old male inside a residence was approached by a 26-year-old female suspect who wielded a sharp object and stabbed the victim.”

The child was transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The young boy is listed in fair condition.

The woman is in custody.
