Woman charged with manslaughter over crash that killed boy in Sydney
A woman has been charged with domestic violence manslaughter after a car crash in which a child died more than a year ago, in western Sydney.

In the early hours of Friday, April 26, 2024, emergency services were dispatched to a scene on Christie Road in St Marys following a serious road incident.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a Hyundai Getz had collided with a stationary truck and trailer.

The vehicle’s driver, a 38-year-old woman, and a five-year-old boy who was seated in the back, received immediate medical attention at the location before being rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.

Tragically, the young boy succumbed to his injuries and passed away later that night in the hospital.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities charged the woman on December 6, 2024, with several offenses, including dangerous driving causing death.

The case is currently pending in the courts, with proceedings yet to be concluded.

After further investigations, yesterday, she was charged with domestic violence manslaughter.

She will appear in court today.
