A female’s body has been found amid the search for missing Maryland teen, Dacara Thompson.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, the body was found “in a grassy area off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County on Sunday.”
Dacara’s parents reported her missing on August 22 after she told her father, Daniel Thompson, that she intended to refuel her vehicle. Her last known location that day was at her father’s residence in Lanham.
Daniel received a text from her at 11:50 p.m., in which she said, “I got gas & I’m out. I should be back soon. I love you too. Goodnight <3”.
“She just said I’m going out. I’ll be back,” he told WUSA9.
Her vehicle, a 2013 white Ford Edge, was found Saturday at the intersection of Jasmine Terrace and Riggs Road, in Langley Park.
“It was very unusual because I have never known her to come to this area,” said her mother, Carmen, as reported by NBC4 Washington. “We’ve never discussed anything about ever coming to meet anyone over in this area. We don’t know anyone in this area.”
The police department stated, “The preliminary investigation has revealed a possible connection to the PGPD’s missing persons investigation. At this time, the identity of the deceased woman has not been confirmed.”
“Investigators are also awaiting the autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. The PGPD is working jointly with Maryland State Police on this investigation.”
The story is developing. Check back for updates.
