Man shot in foot by group of thugs in Brisbane home
A group of men are on the run after breaking into a Brisbane home and shooting a young man in the foot when he refused to give over money.

In a chilling incident caught on CCTV, a group of masked individuals was seen stealthily approaching a residence on Mander Court in Wellington Point around 1 a.m. on the morning in question. The footage reveals that all the intruders appeared to be armed with firearms.

Inside the home, a 25-year-old man found himself face-to-face with the group. According to his mother, Seanne McMahon, he was alone and engrossed in a video game, wearing headphones, when he suddenly realized the intruders were standing in the doorway.

“He was just in here playing his game with his headphones on, and he just looked up and they were all there in the door,” McMahon recounted. The situation rapidly escalated when her son refused to divulge the combinations to the safe. “He wouldn’t give over any of the combinations for the safe or anything, so they beat the crap out of him … and when he wouldn’t cooperate, they shot him,” she explained.

After the violent confrontation, the group made their escape, taking several valuables along with a Dodge Ram ute. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the brazen home invasion, seeking any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible.

Police believe the home invasion was a targeted attack and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The men responsible are still at large and a stolen vehicle remains outstanding.

“These people are in the community with guns, they can do this to any person that they think has money or whatever that they that owes them something in life,” McMahon said.
