Bryan Kohberger’s relentless stream of grievances is reportedly pushing Idaho prison staff to consider extraordinary measures. At 31 years old, Kohberger has been lodging formal complaints about everything from the harassment he faces from fellow inmates to the quality of his meals, even down to the “type of bananas” served.
Sources inside the prison suggest that officials at the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) are so exasperated by Kohberger’s constant demands and “diva” behavior that they have begun exploring the possibility of transferring him to another state.
In the midst of Kohberger’s prison saga, questions persist about the nature of the crime for which he was convicted. Some speculate that he did not act alone, based on the brutal injuries inflicted on the victims. Recently unsealed records reveal the horrific details: Kaylee was stabbed approximately 38 times while she slept next to Maddie, who suffered 28 stab wounds.
Ethan sustained 17 sharp force injuries in his sleep, while Xana, who appeared to be awake and resisting, was stabbed 67 times. Notably, Xana was the only victim with blood on her feet, suggesting she was upright at some point during the attack. Both Kaylee and Maddie succumbed to their stab wounds, but Kaylee also endured asphyxial and blunt force trauma to her head. The autopsy reveals that Kaylee was stabbed multiple times in the face, head, and neck—24 times to be exact—along with 11 stabs to the chest and three more to her arms.
Some of the stab wounds were severe enough to penetrate the outer layer of her skull and puncture her subclavian artery and vein, leading to significant hemorrhaging in her chest. Additional injuries were noted to her teeth and tongue, underscoring the brutality of the attack.
Some of the stabs punctured the outer table of her skull and perforated her subclavian artery and vein, causing hemorrhaging in her chest. She also suffered injuries to her teeth and tongue.
Investigators say Kaylee might have been attacked with more than just the Kabar knife. Maddie is stabbed in her face, head, and neck 13 times; in her arms 10 times; and five times in her chest, causing wounds to her lung and liver, and perforations of her subclavian vein and artery.
Maddie’s septum was sliced and her tongue perforated.
