A man has been charged after a car crashed into a hotel courtyard in a New South Wales village, injuring some patrons.

Late yesterday afternoon, emergency responders rushed to a hotel situated along Castlereagh Highway, near Bandamore Street in the town of Capertee, north of Lithgow. This followed a distressing incident involving a vehicle collision.

Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered that a car had collided with a concrete pole before careening into the hotel courtyard, causing significant concern for patrons present at the time.

A 64-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman, who were enjoying their time at the hotel, sustained serious injuries from the crash. Emergency medical teams swiftly airlifted them to a nearby hospital to receive the urgent care they required.

Another woman, also a patron at the hotel, suffered minor injuries and was subsequently transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Additionally, four other individuals involved received attention for minor injuries on-site but fortunately did not need further medical assistance.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man, emerged unscathed from the accident. He was promptly detained by authorities and transported to Orange Base Hospital, where he underwent mandatory testing as part of standard procedure following such incidents.

On release, he was charged with multiple driving offences and his licence was suspended.

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
