In a chilling incident, a terrified child dialed 911 from a closet, where they were hiding with two other children, to report a shooting spree in their residence. Police arrived to a grim scene, discovering four adults had been killed.
The emergency call was made around 2:30 a.m. on Friday in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Responding officers found the four deceased individuals, as confirmed by the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Utilizing a police dog, officers tracked down the alleged shooter in a wooded area behind the home, as reported by WANF.
Investigators suspect the shooting to be related to domestic issues, though they have yet to release the identities of the suspect or the victims to the public.
The three children, who were unharmed physically, had sought refuge in a closet. One of them courageously called 911 from their hiding spot, according to WANF.
“It’s an undeniably tragic event. The loss of four lives at once, particularly with children present in the home, is deeply shocking,” expressed Gwinnett police Cpl. Angela Carter to WSB.
According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, the suspect’s vehicle was still in the driveway when officers arrived, and they found him quickly hiding behind the house. Police also said there had been prior calls for service at the house.
The children were later handed over to another family member.
