Tragedy struck in California on Friday when a dire situation unfolded, leading to the deaths of two parents. The alarm was raised when one of their three children made a frantic 911 call, reporting that their father was attacking their mother.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the distress call came in around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies forcibly entered the home, discovering the couple deceased inside. Thankfully, the children were unharmed physically during this ordeal.
Reports from KOVR revealed that deputies decided to break in after spotting the woman lying motionless through a window.
Sgt. Edward Igoe explained to KXTV that the emergency call was made by one of the children, who reported their father’s aggression. Fortunately, the juveniles managed to escape the house while deputies were on their way.
Neighbors shared with the news outlet that the father had a criminal past, having been arrested years ago and only recently returned home after serving his sentence. However, this detail has not been confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
Authorities are treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide. The identities of the parents remain undisclosed, and no information has been released regarding the children’s current location or their ages.
