An intriguing image surfaced showing a desk adorned with several framed photographs, while an open drawer revealed even more photos tucked inside.
This particular picture is one of the scant mentions of Trump within the documents unveiled by the Justice Department on Friday.
On the DOJ’s Epstein files website, a peculiar gap exists where this Trump-associated image was initially accessible. The image, labeled “EFTA00000468,” seems to have vanished, as the sequence now skips directly from “EFTA00000467” to “EFTA00000469” as of 2:45 PM ET on Saturday (6:45 AM Sunday AEDT).
The reason behind the photo’s apparent removal remains unclear. CNN has sought clarification from both the Department of Justice and the White House.
Notably, Trump faces no allegations of misconduct or criminal charges linked to Epstein.
The photo’s disappearance drew attention from Congressional Democrats, who pointed it out on Saturday.
“(Attorney General Pam Bondi) is this true? What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public,” House Oversight Committee Democrats wrote in a post on X.
Senator Chuck Schumer asked on X, “And if they’re taking this down, just imagine how much more they’re trying to hide ⦠This could be one of the biggest coverups in American history.”
