An inquiry that began in September of last year has uncovered the alleged involvement of a criminal syndicate’s leader in orchestrating the murder of a 27-year-old former member, as well as plotting to kill an associate in Kogarah Bay during August.
Subsequently, law enforcement officials apprehended and charged six individuals throughout the state, conducting search operations across Sydney.
During these searches, authorities discovered significant sums of cash and a substance resembling white powder.
The alleged mastermind, a 32-year-old man, was detained at a residence in Croydon Park and taken to Burwood Police Station, where he faced numerous charges.
These charges include conspiracy and agreement to commit murder, solicitation and encouragement to murder, and the recruitment of a minor to engage in or assist with criminal activities.
He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Burwood Local Court today.
A man and a woman, both aged 34, were arrested in Austral in Sydney’s south-west, and were taken to Liverpool Police Station.
They were both charged with multiple offences, including drug and criminal activity charges. The pair were refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.
Two other men, a 34-year-old and a 40-year-old, were arrested in Lidcombe and Merrylands respectively, where they were given multiple charges, and were refused bail to appear in court today.
Police also arrested a 23-year-old man at Wagga Wagga Police Station in the state’s south, where he was hit with multiple charges, including possessing an unregistered pistol and reckless wounding in company.
He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
