On the evening when the decomposed body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered inside David Anthony Burke’s Tesla and was confirmed to be Celeste Rivas, police officers in Hempstead, Texas, were sent to the home of Burke’s parents.
Responding to a 911 call reporting gunshots, a woman’s scream in the background, and a suspected death at the scene, the officers approached the residence with their weapons ready. Burke’s parents, visibly shocked, answered the door, with his father stating, “Someone is messing with us.”
The unraveling situation at Celeste Rivas’s home reveals a history of distress, as authorities had visited the residence 11 times in a year, with three calls occurring on March 19, 2024. On that same morning, Celeste was captured on surveillance footage near a liquor store close to her home, moving swiftly around 7 a.m.
Investigators seized electronics and computers from Burke’s rented Hollywood Hills mansion, but their purpose was to locate signs of blood.
Investigators employed Luminol, a chemical that makes blood remnants detectable, as they concentrated their investigation on floors, drains, and various surfaces within the house.
