Sean “Diddy” Combs was accused of utilizing “violence and fear” to manage a criminal network that allowed him to engage in sex trafficking two former girlfriends, a U.S. prosecutor stated during the closing arguments at the music mogul’s trial on Thursday. Prosecutor Christy Slavik informed the jury that Combs “uses power, violence, and fear to achieve his desires,” adding, “He believed that his fame, wealth, and influence placed him above the law.”

Slavik mentioned Ventura Fine’s alleged participation in several of Combs’ so-called “freak offs” as evidence of the coercion used during these sexual encounters. Prosecutors claim that Combs ran a criminal operation within a “climate of fear.” The jury is expected to begin their deliberations by late Friday or Monday.

Some observers say the trial has shifted from a question of whether Combs committed the acts to whether he will be held accountable.
