Cassie Ventura, ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, took the stand as the prosecution’s star witness against the rap mogul.
Heavily pregnant, Ventura recounted in her testimony that her interactions with Combs varied from pleasant moments to conflicts and physical abuse. Prior to her testimony, the defense asked for her to be seated before the jury’s entry due to her pregnancy. However, the judge dismissed the request, emphasizing there would be no special accommodations.
Ventura described how Combs’ control over her increased during their relationship and detailed instances of physical abuse.
During court sessions, Combs presented a markedly different demeanor. Without cameras in the courtroom, reporters outside noted his new look—sporting gray hair, wearing pullover sweaters, and using reading glasses. Whether this was due to stress or a deliberate legal tactic remains uncertain. Additionally, Combs was seen reading the Bible before Ventura’s testimony commenced, while his family gathered for prayer on the courthouse steps.
