GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting incident this evening on the 1700 block of NE 8th Avenue.

The Gainesville Police Department reported that around 6:25 p.m. on March 10, officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of NE 8th Avenue following a shooting alert. Upon arrival, they discovered two people with gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening.

Initial investigations suggest the shooting may have been a drive-by. Both victims have been transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care for their injuries.

The case remains under active investigation.
