Family Charged in Missing Man’s Death After His Remains Are Found on His Property

A tragic discovery unfolded this week as a New York man, previously reported missing, was found deceased on his own property. Authorities have charged a family member in connection with his death.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, initial reports suggested Roger Pitt had packed his car and left. However, further investigation told a different story. Officials stated on Wednesday that discrepancies in the family’s accounts led investigators to execute multiple search warrants, ultimately uncovering Pitt’s remains on his premises.

Law enforcement has arrested Rodney Pitt, 46, and Drew White, 23, charging them with murder, conspiracy, evidence tampering, and hiding a corpse. Tania Pitt, 43, faces charges of evidence tampering and conspiracy.

While Rodney Pitt and White remain in custody without bail, Tania Pitt has been released under the condition of returning for a future court appearance.

Rodney Pitt has been identified as the son of the victim, as reported by the Albany Times-Union. The connection of the other two individuals remains less clear, though Tania shares the family surname.

Rodney Pitt is the son of the murdered man, the Albany Times-Union reported. It’s not clear how the other two are connected, other than Tania Pitt having the same last name.
