A Florida woman was arrested last week for allegedly littering 75 tampons on her ex-boyfriend’s lawn.
A woman reported to Volusia County police that on September 30, she and her boyfriend, whom she lives with, came home to discover their yard littered with numerous tampons stained with red paint. According to WTVT, their surveillance footage allegedly captured a truck making rounds near their residence before an individual started throwing the tampons from the truck.
The footage reportedly also showed a woman on foot tossing more tampons on the couple’s lawn.
The couple suspected the person responsible was the man’s former girlfriend, 28-year-old Gabrielle Franze, an Orange County firefighter. As reported by WKMG, they informed investigators they believed Franze was displeased with their current relationship.
License plate readers reportedly confirmed the truck belonged to Franze, who initially claimed she did not know where her ex-boyfriend lived.
When shown the license plate reader images, Franze reportedly confessed to being at the house but denied orchestrating the act, suggesting her mother and aunt were behind it.
Franze was arrested on Friday and charged with stalking. According to WTVT, she has been placed on paid leave by the Orange County Fire Rescue Department following her arrest.
