A resident of Texas has turned himself in to authorities after barricading himself inside his residence for an extended period.

Bobby Rocha, 52, was apprehended on Sunday after a prolonged standoff with officers from the San Antonio Police Department. As detailed in an arrest affidavit acquired by KSAT, an ABC affiliate, Rocha’s roommate reported that Rocha had threatened him with a firearm following an accidental release of Rocha’s pets. The roommate claimed Rocha menaced him with threats to “chop him into pieces, and feed him to the cat.”

The incident reportedly kicked off on Saturday afternoon when the roommate contacted police. According to the affidavit, the roommate, who had known Rocha since they were children, mistakenly allowed Rocha’s dog and cat to escape. Rocha was said to have become agitated, prompting the roommate to leave temporarily in search of the animals.

Upon his return without the pets, the roommate informed law enforcement that Rocha’s anger escalated, leading him to allegedly aim a gun at the roommate. As per the affidavit, Rocha then purportedly threatened to eliminate his roommate, reiterating his earlier chilling words about dismemberment and feeding him to the cat.

Following this altercation, the roommate collected his belongings and contacted 911 before departing the premises. When officers reached Rocha’s location, they attempted to communicate with him but were unsuccessful. Rocha allegedly responded to the police presence by expressing his readiness to die inside his home.

As reported by KENS, a CBS affiliate, Rocha engaged in a standoff with law enforcement for approximately seven hours before eventually conceding on Sunday. He exited the house with his hands raised, allowing officers to take him into custody without any further confrontation.

Rocha was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and obstruction or retaliation. He remains in custody at the Bexar County Jail, where he is being held on $40,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2026.
