A Florida man has been taken into custody this week, over a year after he allegedly threatened to kill someone and said, “I’ll bury you out back with the others.”
Victor Colon, 62, has been charged with armed robbery with a firearm for the December 14, 2023 incident, WPLG reported.
The arrest report states that the incident was brought to the attention of Miami-Dade deputies by the victim and his father three days after it happened. The victim, whose age remains undisclosed, recounted that while he was playing video games at his mother’s residence, Colon — who is considered a “friend” of the victim’s mother — stormed into the room and began shouting profanities at him.
Reacting quickly, the victim took out his cell phone to start recording and attempted to exit the situation. During this time, Colon brandished a gun, forcibly took the phone from the victim, grabbed him by the shirt, and pushed him onto a couch.
Colon pointed the gun at the victim, pressing it into his head while telling him, “I should kill you,” the affidavit says.
At one point during the assault, Colon unchambered a round from his gun, pointed it at the victim’s head, and pulled the trigger.
“I should bury you in the back with the rest of them,” he allegedly said.
Then, the report said, Colon asked the victim’s mother if he should shoot her son, and she replied, ‘No,” so he began slapping the victim in the face.
When Colon went to the bathroom, the victim grabbed his cell phone and fled the home, snapping a photo of Colon’s license plate as he left.
Detectives located Colon through the plate number, and the victim identified him from a photograph.
Colon was booked into jail on Wednesday with no bond set, but there was no information about why it took a year and half to make an arrest. There were also no comments about whether “the rest of them” were in fact buried in the back.
