Florida woman, Tenisha Geddis, 38, was arrested after accidentally throwing acid to a child during an alleged argument with her sister.

Tenisha Geddis, a 38-year-old Florida woman, was arrested for allegedly getting into an argument with her sister and tried to throw acid on her but it accidentally hit her sister’s daughter instead.

Law & Crime reviewed court records and it showed that Florida woman, Tenisha Geddis, multiple felony charges.

Florida woman, Tenisha Geddis was taken into custody and was charged with one count each of felony aggravated child abuse, felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and of misdemeanor battery.

Miami-Dade Police Department officers responded to a report about a domestic disturbance as Florida woman, Geddis’ fight with her sister escalated in the Florida woman’s home in the 9900 block of NW 26th Avenue.

The police who responded, the police witnessed Florida woman hit her sister in the face with a fist. Reportedly, Florida woman Geddis and her sister refused to either talk or file a report regarding the incident to the police.

Even before the police left the scene, a second altercation erupted between Florida woman and her sister, in which the Florida woman started throwing things.

As the altercation escalated, Florida woman picked up a large white bottle of HDX muriatic acid, says Police.

HDX muriatic acid is a diluted solution of hydrochloric acid, it has a warning labeled to cause “severe burns” and “may cause blindness if splashed in eyes.”

As Florida woman threw the acid and missed her sister, it instead struck her sister’s daughter. The girl received injuries to the front area of her body, police says. It was not stated whether the sustained injuries were severe.

The Police communicated with detectives and alerted the National Domestic Violence Hotline. The police also contacted the State Attorney’s office was contacted, Local 10 News reports.

Florida woman Tenisha Geddis, has a set bond of $7,500. Authorities transported Florida woman Geddis, to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
