A Georgia resident recently released from incarceration in May has been implicated in the murder of a woman from Swainsboro, discovered deceased at her residence earlier this week.
Authorities have charged 40-year-old Charles Justin Davis with malice murder in connection with the tragic death of Amber Nichole Fields, aged 34, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Fields’ lifeless body was discovered by a family member who went to check on her after she failed to show up for work. Davis was apprehended later on the same day.
Fields had previously endured and eventually recovered from a vicious assault in 2011, which left doctors initially believing she would remain in a vegetative state, as reported by WTOC. Her then-boyfriend, Jason Browning, admitted to the attack the following year and received a 20-year prison sentence.
As detailed by WRDW, Davis had previously served a six-year prison term for an aggravated assault conviction prior to his release on parole.
