LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Investigators are seeking assistance from the public to identify individuals potentially linked to a train derailment that resulted in damages nearing $25,000 and disrupted local traffic.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that on the afternoon of Friday, May 23, they were notified about a train derailment along South Rainbow Boulevard in Vegas. This incident triggered the activation of train crossing barriers, leading to traffic complications.

During their investigation, officers discovered that three railroad carts had been tampered with. This interference caused one cart to veer off the tracks and led to the contents, including rocks, being spilled from two other carts.

Detectives identified three people of interest who were seen in a truck in the area.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify people who may be responsible for a train derailment that caused nearly $25,000 in damages. (LVMPD)

Anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the people in the photos is urged to contact the Southern Nevada Counterterrorism Section by phone at (702) 828-7777 or submit a report at SNCTC.org.

To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at (702) 385-5555, or online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
