17-Year-Old Suspect in Murder of 14-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Houston

Houston Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy wanted for the murder of a 14-year-old boy six months ago.

On July 20, 2024, Abraham Choukair was discovered fatally shot inside a vehicle at a residential complex in northwestern Houston. Reports from KRIV indicated that investigators found out he was sighted in the parking area with a woman and then with a man just before 1 p.m.

After in the shooting, those two were seen running from the scene.

The female, identified as a 16-year-old girl, and the male, identified as 17-year-old Joshua Garcia, were charged with murder in September, and the girl was arrested on October 15, KPRC said. Her identity was not released because of her age.

Garcia, however, remained on the run until Tuesday, when Houston Police arrested him. Police did not say how he was located.
