A man sought for alleged domestic violence offenses was apprehended after hiding in a stormwater drain in New South Wales’ central west.
Authorities arrived at several locations in Orange on the hunt for the individual, who was wanted on a warrant related to domestic violence charges.
At approximately 4:50 PM, officers visited a residence on McLachlan Street in Orange. The 21-year-old suspect reportedly leaped over the back fence and took refuge in an underground drain near Byng Street.
A 20-year-old woman at the McLachlan Street address was also detained for allegedly violating bail conditions.
She is accused of chasing after the man before he hid in the drain.
Later that evening, around 7:30 PM, police successfully located the man using a drain inspection camera, leading to his arrest.
He was assessed by paramedics before being taken to Orange Police Station, where the warrant was later executed.
The 20-year-old woman was also taken to Orange Police Station and was charged with breach of bail.
They are both set to face court tomorrow.
