A significant police operation is currently taking place in Gregory Hills, located in Sydney’s southwest, following reports of multiple gunshots.
According to NSW Police, a “large police presence” has been established in the area near Camden, with parts of the vicinity around the World Gym being sealed off.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any injuries.
The gunfire is believed to have erupted in the parking lot of the complex on Steer Road.
After the shots were heard, customers took cover, with some witnesses reaching out to radio station 2GB.
One witness, Lucas, reported seeing two individuals wearing balaclavas and armed with handguns, who allegedly fired “eight or nine shots.”
Another, Jack, said he had been in the Service NSW outlet in the centre when “about 10” gunshots were fired in the car park.
He said all the people in the Service NSW centre were sheltering in a back room while waiting for the all-clear by police.
