West Virginia officials said no graves were disturbed at a cemetery where a deceased baby was discovered last week.
While decorating a grave at Baylous Cemetery in Salt Rock on Thursday, an individual made a call to 911 upon finding a baby. Nearby, a broken casket was discovered on a slope, as reported by WOWK.
The infant is thought to be a boy, estimated to be a few months old. Cabell County Sheriff Doug Adams stated that there is no evidence suggesting any of the graves at Baylous Cemetery were disturbed, as per WSAZ’s report.
Adams said the incident appears to be isolated. Meanwhile, the infant’s body was sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office.
