According to WMTV, Bartelt allegedly assaulted a woman in the park with a knife on July 12 and beat her. He offered an apology, claiming that he was scaring the women.

Daniel was charged with criminal first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree endangerment for Melisa and the death of Jessie, he was charged with first-degree intentional homicide.

Jessie Blodgett is currently in jail. Despite his not guilty plea, Daniel was found guilty of Jessie’s murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance of parole.
On the charges of attempted homicide and false imprisonment, a plea agreement was reached. The other charges were dropped in exchange for a guilty plea to first-degree endangerment.

In addition to his life in prison, he was sentenced to five years of probation. Buck and Joy, Jessie’s parents, initiated the Love Is Greater Than Hate Project after her passing.
Buck wants to spread Jessie’s message, so he travels to schools, corporations, nonprofits, and prisons to ask males to make a pledge vowing not to attack women.

Blodgett and Bartelt met as classmates at Hartford Union High School. They dated in high school and even recorded a song jointly, which they posted to Youtube.
