Sergio Mitre is a convicted criminal and former professional baseball pitcher of Mexican descent. He was a member of the Chicago Cubs, Florida Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, and New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB).

Mitre was drafted in the 7th round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago Cubs out of San Diego City College. In 2003, he made his major league debut for the Cubs.

However, he was dating Lilianana Ines over the last three months. It is ironic, how Mitre physically assaulted the child of his girlfriend Lilianana followed by murder.

Doctors found that Ines suffered multiple body injuries including the abdomen. Liliana is also under investigation. Prosecutors revealed during a Wednesday court hearing that Ines was assaulted with an object.

He has been suspended by the Mexican Baseball League and released by his club, the Saltillo Saraperos. The player spent eight years in MLB and last pitched in the league in 2011 with the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees.

Former Yankees pitcher, Sergio Mitre was arrested for he was convicted of murdering his ex-partner’s daughter. He was convicted of femicide after raping and murdering the 22-month-old girl after his July 2020 arrest and trial in Mexico.

He was sentenced on 19 January 2022 night to between 40 to 60 years of imprisonment. His ex-partner, Liliana Ines, told authorities that she took her daughter to a local clinic Saturday after she was vomiting at her grandmother’s house.

Later she was taken to Dr. Federico Gomez Santos Children’s Hospital, where, she was declared dead.

As per his Wikipedia, he has a son named Sam (Sergio Armando Mitre III). He was born on December 29, 2006. He also has a daughter named Senya.

Having his daughter, Mitre was not thoughtful of other kids that he had committed an awful crime. The athlete didn’t think wife before wrongdoing to 22-month-old child.
