The wife of a federal bankruptcy judge in Texas found herself behind bars after becoming incensed by a man playing bagpipes and allegedly assaulting the musician’s wife, authorities said.

Eunice Isgur, 76, is facing a charge of assault with bodily injury, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 5. Deputies responded to an alleged assault that occurred on May 26 at Terry Hershey Park in Houston. Isgur purportedly became furious that a man was playing bagpipes in a secluded section of the park. She approached the man while filming on her phone and began shouting at him, according to authorities.

The man’s wife saw the argument and started recording herself. That’s when Isgur allegedly began screaming at the wife and assaulted her.

Scott Gibb, the bagpiper, spoke with local ABC affiliate KTRK about the encounter.

“She said I had no right to play here in this public park,” recalled Gibb.

Isgur then invoked her husband, U.S. District Bankruptcy Judge Marvin Isgur of the Southern District of Texas, according to Gibb.

“She said, ‘I’m gonna call my husband. He’s a federal judge and he’s gonna make you stop,”” the bagpiper told the TV station.

Gibb said the suspect had her judge husband come to the scene, but he is not accused of any wrongdoing. Gibb said the assault occurred when Eunice Isgur hit the victim’s arm while swiping at her phone. However the suspect ended up with a black eye when she fell while trying to grab Gibb’s wife’s backpack.

The musician, who is originally from Scotland, told the TV station that Eunice Isgur had confronted him before, but this is the first time it turned violent.

“You can’t have people so disrespectful and attacking for no reason at all,” Gibb said.

Isgur hired Ryan Patrick, the son of Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, as an attorney, per records. He did not return a request for comment.
