“King of the Hill” voice actor Jonathan Joss was reportedly shot and killed in Texas on Sunday.

Joss, aged 59, known for voicing John Redcorn on the animated sitcom, was found deceased after San Antonio police discovered him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to KENS, suspect Sigfredo Alvarez, aged 56, was caught just a block away from the scene of the incident.

Residents informed the news outlet that Joss had been residing in the neighborhood for some time, even though his house had burned down a few months prior. They mentioned that he often returned to the area to collect his mail.

The community members also claimed that there was a persistent conflict between Joss and Alvarez, which apparently involved both men confronting each other with weapons. According to their account to KENS, Joss was frequently seen armed with a crossbow.

Shortly after the fire, Joss told the San Antonio Express-News that he walked out of his burning home carrying one of his deceased dogs. He claimed at least one neighbor was laughing at him, though he did not provide a name.

Joss’ home reportedly burned down after he used a BBQ pit for heating because the city deemed his home uninhabitable and shut off the power. Sunday’s shooting occurred after Joss had returned to the San Antonio property to pick up a victim’s fire fund check, according to TMZ.

In addition to “King of the Hill,” Joss also had a recurring role on “Parks and Recreation.” Alvarez remains jailed on $200,000 bond.
