Lil Jon Confirms Missing Son’s Death After Body Pulled From Pond

In a somber announcement on Friday, rapper Lil Jon shared the tragic news of his son’s passing, which came just days after the young man was reported missing in Georgia.

In a heartfelt statement to USA Today, Lil Jon expressed deep sorrow alongside the mother of his son, Nathan Smith. The couple described themselves as “extremely heartbroken” following the confirmation of 27-year-old Smith’s death. Smith was last seen in Milton on February 3, and on Friday, divers from the Cherokee County Fire Department discovered a body in a nearby pond.

According to WXIA, Smith, who was also known by his stage name DJ Young Slade, left his home suddenly on February 3. His residence was near the pond where the initial search was concentrated, although efforts were later expanded. While details surrounding his disappearance remain limited, authorities suggested that Smith might have been disoriented at the time he went missing.

In a statement released to TMZ, Lil Jon reflected on his son’s character, saying, “Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted — he loved his family and friends with all his heart.”

The Milton police have stated that there is no evidence of foul play in Smith’s death. The Fulton County Medical Examiner is currently working to determine the exact cause of death.
