The trial of Kouri Richins, a Utah mother accused of murdering her husband, Eric Richins, by allegedly poisoning his Moscow Mule cocktail, is currently underway.
At 35 years old, Richins is facing a series of charges in Summit County, which extend beyond the allegation of poisoning her husband.

Prosecutors claim that in May 2023, Richins added a dose of fentanyl, reportedly more than five times the lethal limit, to Eric’s drink.
In the aftermath of the incident, Richins, a mother of three, published a children’s book titled “Are You with Me?” which tells the story of a father with angel wings watching over his son.
Additional allegations have surfaced, accusing Richins of a previous attempt to poison Eric by lacing his sandwich on Valentine’s Day in 2022.
The defense has countered these claims by questioning the method of fentanyl ingestion, pointing out that investigators did not conduct a thorough examination of the cup used for the drink.
The prosecution stated that Richins, who had been having an affair, had a $4 million debt and killed her husband to gain financial freedom.
