A Long Island resident, Jeremy Allen, received a life sentence without the possibility of parole on Thursday for the brutal torture and murder of his childhood friend, Christopher Hahn, aged 43.

The 44-year-old Allen was found guilty of murder and evidence tampering in January, according to an announcement by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

“Christopher Hahn deserved more than to have his life ended so violently by someone he trusted,” stated District Attorney Raymond Tierney. “The severity of the torture inflicted warrants nothing less than a life sentence without parole.”

During the trial, evidence revealed that Allen and Hahn, who had maintained their friendship since high school, spent the evening of September 27, 2024, at a bar before heading to Allen’s East Quogue residence. Shortly after midnight, Allen subjected Hahn to a brutal assault lasting nearly 20 minutes, a scene captured by Allen’s outdoor security camera, as reported by the district attorney’s office.

Footage from the rear security camera depicted Allen dragging a severely battered and barely conscious Hahn onto a back deck. Allen left Hahn there, seriously injured and unable to stand, only to return and further attack him with a baseball bat. After leaving again, Allen came back with a plastic bag, which he placed over Hahn’s head, securing it loosely.

In a chilling display, Allen then sat and watched his incapacitated friend for nearly ten minutes before retrieving a large knife and slowly stabbing Hahn in the neck ten times. He remained standing over Hahn as he took his final breath.

The entire ordeal lasted six hours. At one point, Law&Crime reported, he was heard telling Hahn, “Die. It’s not so hard. Just die.”

After Hahn died, Allen covered him with a blanket and tried to clean up. He further called his handman to help him clean up, telling him he couldn’t leave the home after he saw the blood and Hahn’s body. Somehow, the handyman persuaded him to let him leave, and the fled the home and called police, who arrested Allen not long after.
