A man is under arrest and a woman is believed to be on the run after a car smashed into a barrier and rolled at a tram station in Melbourne early this morning.
Police were called to the site on Racecourse Road at Flemington at about 1.45am.
It’s alleged a man and a woman were seen trying to kick the crashed car’s windscreen in, before taking several items and fleeing.
A Dog Squad officer found a man hiding in a recycling bin in a nearby laneway.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was arrested and taken to hospital under police guard.
Police allege the car was stolen, and claim a search of the vehicle yielded a gun, drugs, and a machete.
The woman is yet to be found.
