A teenager has been charged after an alleged shooting and arson in Sydney’s west earlier this week.
Police were called to Steeple Place in Marsden Park following reports of gunshots at 10.45pm on Thursday.
Police arrived and found several bullets had been fired into the home. No one was injured.
A short time later, emergency services were called to a park on Oramzi Road in Girraween for a car fire.
The blaze was extinguished by FRNSW but the car was destroyed.
Detectives are working to identify if the incidents are linked.
During investigations, officers stopped a ride-share car on Lucretia Road in Toongabbie.
They spoke to the 18-year-old passenger of the car and performed a search of him, when officers allegedly found a gun and spent ammunition cartridges.
He was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with possessing a firearm and other gun-related offences.
No charges have been laid in relation to the car fire.
He fronted Blacktown Court yesterday, where he was refused bail.
He will appear in front of the same court again on May 16.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
