5 Children Kept Tied in Cages Until 1 Escapes, Found By Neighbor

A 35-year-old Michigan resident is facing multiple charges after his fiancée reported that he assaulted her 11-year-old daughter and dragged the young girl down the street.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the woman contacted dispatchers and informed them she was trailing her abusive partner as he forcibly dragged the child, refusing to release her, as reported by WDIV. Deputies responded and discovered the situation as described just before 8 p.m. on Monday.

The man did not comply with deputies’ orders to stop and release the child, leading the officers to use a taser, which brought the man to the ground and released the terrified girl.

He continued to struggle against deputies and was eventually taken into custody.

The girl sustained minor injuries and was attended to by medics at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital for the treatment of minor injuries and was subsequently booked into jail following his discharge.

The sheriff’s office declined to release his name until he is arraigned, according to WJBK. Police have not released further details.

Identified as Nolan Ray Wolan, the 35-year-old was incarcerated in the Monroe County jail on Monday night, facing charges of domestic violence, child abuse, kidnapping, assault and battery on a police officer, and assaulting and resisting a police officer, according to jail records. He is currently held without bail.
