Police were called to an unstaffed police station in Melbourne, where a man had allegedly smashed his way inside.
An alarm was activated at a restricted area at the Collingwood Police Station about 12.10am today.
Offices on patrol nearby were forced to respond.
Police alleged a man had tampered with a police car on the street before smashing the window at the front of the station and making his way inside.
He allegedly refused to listen to responding officers and was Tasered and doused with capsicum spray before he was arrested.
He was deemed not fit to be interviewed and the case is pending further investigation.
In response to 9news.com.au’s questions on whether the station had been unstaffed at the time, a Victoria Police spokesperson said there will be a review but confirmed the reception counter had been closed to the public.
”Local management will review the circumstances as well as the security overlay of the police station,” the spokesperson said.
